Downloading PDF from a site has almost become a fashion to share some contents related to the site. This information can be a e-book, certificate, catalog, letter and the guess goes on. But one of my recent projects had the feature of allowing user(only authorized users) to download a certificate.
HTML 5 has been encompassed with many novel attributes, one of which is the Placeholders. The Placeholder attribute displays text in the input field till it is focused and then hides the text on click. These Placeholders plays an momentous role in offering a visual information about the field. A general place where I prefer to add Placeholders is template.php in your theme.
Recently I had the need to display the currently logged in user's name in the main menu region. The requirement was so simple, for non-logged in users the site should just show the main menu, but for logged in users it must display their name as the first item in the main menu.
Lightbox a powerful module in Drupal arena., proved its mastery once again! I was involved in trying to find a way to display nodes in popup, the apparent module that struck my way was Colorbox-Node. Things looked as if it would be a cake-walk but went beyond what I thought. The Colorbox-Node holds the ability to display nodes in overlay effect, but it needs huge template and jQuery level customization.
Views one of the prevailing modules in Drupal. It has the competence to dwindle manual work of pulling the data from Drupal table and formatting them to meet our needs. Most of the developers might have known about the filter and the sort criterion in the views, but only a few know the exact way to display the current items and total result count in this view. Does this requires acquaintance with coding? Apparently yes, but not as tedious as one would imagine. All it needs is a single line PHP print statement in view's template file.
